WINNIE LANGHORNE TO BE FUNERALISED AT WILBERFORCE IN PRV

Winnie Langhorne

By Waltie Ainsworth

One   month after her passing in her hometown of Yorkshire, London, Ms Winifred langhorne- Anderson, will be funeralised on Saturday August 12th at the Wilberforce Congregational Church in the peoples Republic of Victoria.

Winnie was 75 at the time of death and left Guyana in her teens to pursue a career in nursing. She missed all the  independence and Burnham and Jagdeo era to return to Guyana a few short months ago to set up an encore residence at Melanie where she constructed a mac mansion befitting an émigré.

There is a Guyanese maxim which glorifies sissy picknie  more than buddie picnie.  All of Winnies siblings will be forwarding to their hometown of Victoria to celebrate her life.  And each of her mothers sisters will be sending a representative.  Jeggae is making arrangements to fly in after work on Friday nite to depart Guyana on Saturday nite to fulfill a series of prior engagements he has on Sunday.

This writer vaguely remembers Winnie in the village. In her formative years she lived on Belfield Road overline and during the Independence era, her mom Cousin Enid, instllaled hersefl as a neighbor frontside  in Victoria.

It is significant that the funeral will be at the Wilberforce church which is a preserve of the rich and famous PRV populace.

Our condolences go out to the survivng kids, husband siblings and cousins of Winnie in this their darkest hours.
