By Waltie Ainsworth

The fire was so intense after the weekend accident on the Laurelton Roadway in Queens New York that it left a crater on the road and the permanent demise of a female coworker and untimely death of the driver, Mr. Roy Webb Junior the Third. Roy 27, popularly known as ”Royal”, held down two full time jobs; during the day he was a Distributor for Nestle products and on the weekends and social hours he was a Waiter at the famous Antons, in Queens New York. At the time of the accident he was giving two co-workers a ride home and reports are they were texting between and among each other. The identity of the dead co-worker was never disclosed but she will be cremated on Saturday Feburary27th, and Royal will be funeralised on Tuesday March 1st with a viewing on Monday February 29th.

No parent should have to be burdened with the responsibility of burying his or her child but in this era and environment of evolving technologies and creative learning, the daily lessons must only be admired and not emulated.

This writer knows personally both parents of Royal Webb. On the paternal side they are thinkers and on the maternal side, the Hoppies are thoughtful and are both from the Peoples Republic of Victoria.

Last March, I attended the funeral of Dame Lynette Hoppie, Pinkey’s mom. And at that funeral I got a hug from father of the Roy 2nd, familiarly known as Bonnie. I also met the deceased Grandmother who is well over 80 years and still is conversant and comfortable in her own skin.

Meanwhile the Hoppie Family is planning the one year death anniversary and the twentieth death anniversary of Dame Lynette and Cousin Florrie…. Mother and Grandmother respectively of Pinkey, they both died on the same date March 19th different years, five hours apart.

At this time all Victoria embraces and is supportive to the affected families and pray for a new day with grace and gratitude.
