One of the more significant meetings the team will have is the launch of solar panel farms in the regions to offer alternative cheap and accessible energy for production of processed foods and other natural resources.

And in Ottawa, Ms. Marsha Cadett, has been appointed Acting Consul General.

The team will have extensive deliberations with the Guyanese community in Toronto and this time around, the Consul General, Ms Sattie Sawh, will be involved in deliberations.

Recent reports suggest that in previous visits both prior to and after the elections, the office was bypassed and the staffers were not too happy.

This new administration has plotted a deliberate action plan to diversify production from the traditional gold, bauxite, rice and sugar industries and move into uncharted territories such as adding value to the agricultural products and food sources of Amerindians and Hinterland farmers.  Deep sea fishing and canning of fish will also be pursued vigorously as a foreign exchange earner.

The consulates and embassies overseas to date have been exceptionally helpful in initiating  contacts and the Prime Minister’s visit is to say a massive thank you at this time of year.
