HOLMES BROTHERS: AMAZING GRACE CONCERT VERSION

DECIEVABLY SIMPLE IVOR GEORGE DIES

Ivor StrakerThe last time Ivor George was seen alive was with his younger brother Vibert who spends 20 hours weekly as his home companion.

That last meeting was on Tuesday 25th November 2014 and no one else heard or saw him again. Apparently Ivor AKA Ivan Straker fell in his apartment where he lived alone in the Oranges. All of thanksgiving he laid there alone fully clad and lifeless. His stepdaughter found him on Friday 28th November 2014after several attempts to get him on the phone.

Ivor was born August 12, 1932 and was a seaman in Guyana. In 1963 he stowed away on a Bauxite ship and landed in Montreal Canada. While there for a decade, Ivor pursued higher learning in Economics at the prestigious Sir Georges University; in his graduating year, he came to America for a weekend and never returned. He stayed put and worked as a steel mill Technician and later a security operative until age 80 in New Jersey.

Ivor grew up on Drysdale Street and only returned once to both Georgetown and Montreal.
He was never married but had three children. Funeral arrangements have been set for Saturday December 6th at 9:00 am at the Cotton funeral home in Orange NJ. Ivor lived across the street from the facility and over the years like clockwork, prepaid for most if not all of his funeral expenses. The sum total of his life is that he was deceivably simple and did things his way.
