AUNT PANSY AND AUNT OLGA DIE

KENNY G – YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL

AUNT PANSY AND AUNT OLGA DIE

BY Ewalt Ainsworth                     01 06 2014

Mr. Dale Callender released a text message on the passing of his mom…Ms Pansy Saul-Chance over the weekend.  She lived in London for 56 years on almost the same amount of time at 56 PITKIN RD, MITCHAM, SURREY.
Aunty Pansy also maintained the same telephone number, strictness and discipline as a spinster after all these years.  She will be funeralised on January 16th  above her older son Maxime Orin Berefsford MOB-fuh-short……former British  military officer.  She also has three daughters…Elon, Dolphine and Natalie.

Had Aunty Pansy lived another month…February 1, she would have been 81 years.  The perennial family reunion of sorts affecting her siblings, offspring and  friends is now dashed.

And in Scotch Plains, New Jersey, the death of Ms Olga Small was announced by e-mail on    Sunday Jan 5, by her two remaining daughters …Heather and Hazel.  Both Gordon and Dawn preceded their mom, many moons ago.

The Smalls are from an ethnic enclave….Providence… slightly outside of New Amsterdam, Berbice.   Olga at the time of death was recuperating with her gem…Hazel in Georgia.  All the family will be reassembling after midnight train trips and avoiding the delays and overlays based on the  polar vortex that is crippling air and road  trans-p.

Aunty Pansy is from Victoria and may not have known Aunty Olga but their respective children and grandchildren , great nieces and nephews and other immediate relatives,  intersect at the junction of morality, diversity, plurality, sobriety  and tolerance.  Scholarship, philanthropy and broughtupsy also feature prominently in the ways and mores of these junior Sauls and Smalls.

Soft tears are not recommended at this time but a simple recall of the  Sunday school hymnal…WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS.  Do not sing but simply recite as a group collective in tribute of the dwindling stock of the good, graceful and gallant mothers.

Aunty Pansy is my biological aunt…the second in her cluster to expire from old age…Doreen Sophia was first.  Aunty Pansy also buried three of her own fleet in suites of marble and mud.  Three others are alive and they were in close contact at the time of death.  Aunty Pansy was a teacher at Supply Methodist in Mahaica before migrating in 1958.  She was a career nurse in London,  before retiring a decade ago.

Aunt Olga is my environmental aunt.  As a child I knew her as the Community health nurse in Buxton.  She was a career nurse serving in different outposts across and around Guyana for many years.  She migrated a few short years ago and was the kitchen supervisor in the homes of her respective daughters who learnt the craft of good living from her.
May their respective souls be lifted far above and beyond the attics of memory.
