Madiba :  President of morality dead

AMANDLA   AMANDLA  AMANDLA.

Funeral arrangements for the President of Global Morality Nelson Mandela have been set for Sunday December 15 in his South African hometown.  News of his death was announced Thursday night plunging the world into a state of mourning.  GIANT is the most frequently used word to describe Madiba.

The greatest fear when he ascended to the Presidency in 1994 was not his communistic ideals but renaming the days of the week to:

MONDAY    MONDELLA

TUESDAY    TUESDELLA

WEDNESDAY      WEDNESDELLA  etc etc.

Nelson Mandela considered that feat trivial and served one term before handing over the presidency to Tabu Mbeki.  In addition to being a moral compass to his native peoples never skimped on social programs like education, housing, medicine, food and clothing.  He embraced capitalism in every facet but immersed himself in issues of  reconciliation, poverty, equality and equity.

MADEBA was the tribal name bestowed on deceased Nelson  at birth.  It was not until he got to primary school that he emerged as a very resourceful and gifted orator and from that point onwards all his official transcripts and manuscripts classified the name Nelson  Mandela.

Today all over the world influential leaders like President Obama, Vladimir Putin of Russia,  Jessie Jackson of the  RAINBOW PUSH COALATION,  Ban Key Moon of the UN,  Oprah Winfrey, media mogul and Eddy Grant of  Guyana among throngs of others are mourning his death.

Current  South African President, Mr. Jacob  Zuma, late  Thursday December 5, announced the passing of Mr .    Flags around the world are being flown at halt-staff and mountains of sunflower wreaths are springing up in every civilized society.

Mr. Mandela was 95 and died in his ancestral home with five generations around him.  Singer Bono described him as a stubborn warrior for peace and a moral compass.  It should be remembered that both Nelson and Martin Luther King were imprisoned around the same time in 1963 as both men in their respective climes fought for equality and justice in the barrios and ghettos of their respective countries.

Guyana’s Premier, Cheddie Jagan, had the same trajectory like both these fallen leaders but unfortunately took the wrong path of apan-jat which suffocated him long past the hour of death.  Guyana is still embroiled in a bitter struggle for competency and commonsense where plurality matters and diversity is a verb.

Current wife…Ms Gracia Machel-Mandella will go down in history as having outlived two Presidents.  Her first husband, Samora Machel died in a plane crash.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete but word in the region suggests that two Guyanese…Eddy Grant has been tapped to perform.  And sculptor Mr. Ivor Thom has been contacted to frame a live sized bust of the dear fallen leader.

And  FLY JAMAICA…another esteemed carrier, has been quietly developing flight plans to ferry  CARICOM  leaders as an ambitious group collaborative.
