TWO-TIER-PLUS FUNERALS  IN PRV

BY  EWALT AINSWORTH                      11 16 2013

BLOOD FLO IN VEIN AND WATER FLO A DRAIN:

Friday the news was about the death of Warren Baird who died peacefully in his sleep.  Saturday…before bird wife wake, a distant cousin of the deceased, Ossie Blackett, was pronounced dead in his bed by the Regional Medical Officer.

Fast forward to Sunday morning around 5.39 am the phones of the extended families here there and everywhere were ringing off the hook.  Ossie’s younger sister…Ms Agnes Blackett-Gillis was discovered motionless in her bed.  She may have died in her sleep earlier.  Post mortem examinations will be performed respectively on this two tier families.

Dr Joseph Blackett, an older brother of Agnes, is arriving on Wednesday morning.  He is a Christian at heart and very meat minded and community oriented.   Nothing is guaranteed but the deaths of his two siblings will not make the affected families despair.  New vistas, new opportunities will be propagated.  Ossie was 66 and lived on Belfield Road and Agnes, 53,  resided with her family in the ancestral home of P-Tolan and Cousin Enid in the PRV.

Permit me to return to the original story. The respective families of Ossie Blackett and Warren Baird are searching high and low for the cause of death in just as many days in the People’s Republic of Victoria.

Ossie has been a lifelong friend and would have amassed more than 40 year’s service with TELECOMS… more years than Warren has been alive.  Warren was a mere 38 years old and both of his parents…Glona and Valence have been classmates of yours truly.

Warren will be buried next Saturday 23rd November at a prolific and expected soul funeral in Ohio.  Warren was the second son and was a major stakeholder in the family’s home improvement establishment.  My only contact with him would have been a decade ago in Harlem.  One midsummer night he piloted me over the two-tier George Washington Bridge en route to my citadel in the New Jersey exurbs.

And last year when Ossie came visiting in the United States we spoke verbally on the phone as he tried to divide himself between family and friends on the east coast in the United States.

Cause of death has not been established for either or both of these comrades.  Apparently they went to bed in their respective ethnic enclaves and did not rise as scheduled.

Ossie is much older than Warren and he is the second son of Poppy Tolan and his wife.  Ossie, over the years, has been an agile athlete, farmer and self styled businessman.

He always kept his job at TELECOMS and has side stepped retirement once, twice and three times.  He has been married just as many times and tonite as the People’s Republic of Victoria regroups, knowing why is not the question.  Perhaps it is …who is next in line eh?  GO BRAVE COMRADES.  end
