WIA IN HIS PRIME OUTSOURCED

Horace Crawell aka MIA

Horace Crawell aka MIA

WIA …. always meticulous and calculating about his outcome, outlook, image, responsibility and response-ability has died.   WIA a cultural icon and cultural cartoon has been out-sourced to a community of noble denizens and will be buried next week in Brooklyn. June 4th, 5th and 6thwill be reserved for his wake, viewing and burial respectively.

And to maintain any semblance of a relationship with Mr. Craigwell you had to know scripture, Chaucer, Plato, Cunning Bacchus, Ice Police, Habib Khan, Reds Perriera and BL Crombie.  WIA knew the stats for every ball game and a working knowledge of music, arts and science.  His love for computers in his prime …computer love…overwhelming.   Continue reading

By  Ewalt Ainsworth                                05 24 2013

Mahaicony did not disappoint.  Five generations of folks from every ethnic stripe, race, occupation, sexual preference, age, gender and religion band-their-waist and mourned the passing of their one desire…Nurse Desiree  recently.

Nurse Practitioner Desiree Williams-Richmond , a household name in the Mahaicony delta and an item of popular repute in Irvington/Union New Jersey  has died sending shock waves far and beyond her ethnic enclave.  This diminutive lady was a nurse her entire life firstly in Georgetown and for three decades in North America.   Continue reading

MERRIMAN SURVIVES MAJOR FIRE

CALYPSO ROSE  –   FIRE FIRE

MERRIMAN  SURVIVES MAJOR FIRE OVERNITE        05 23 2013

The  MERRIMAN  FUNERAL HOME….the people’s burial outlet and the only qualified morticians in Gt to import and export corpses, suffered a major setback….a raging fire  overnight Wednesday.  The Benn Street community came out to assist the fire brigade in containing  the conflagration  that damaged sections of the morgue and paralyzed two mint-condition  hearses.  Several adjacent and adjoining rooms were scorched.

‘MERRY’ will continue processing 20 bodies weekly at his facility which is premier, plural and psychologically adjusted to deal with setbacks.  After all it is a funeral home and death, disaster and destruction is what is core to the business model.   Continue reading

(Demerara Waves  21 May 2013)— Representatives from Builders Beyond Borders (B3), the Region 2 Regional Democratic Council, U.S. Peace Corps Guyana, and the U.S. Embassy joined community members for the commissioning of a new roadway linking three of Wakapoa’s islands.

A memo to the world’s dictators

A memo to the world’s dictators

Asset protection and regime change
From: Mirkwood Capital To: High-net-worth rulers – The Economist

“IT IS bad enough to be kicked out of power by an ungrateful mob or a jumped-up colonel. Imagine, though, that after years of public service you and the presidential family are condemned not just to exile in fun-loving Saudi Arabia but also to penury. Unfortunately, the latest reports (see article) are all too true: do-gooding lawyers, interfering officials and vengeful successors pose a growing threat to your savings.

The good news is that we at Mirkwood are here to help. We recognise your hard work as “chief executive” of a benighted nation, the tough decisions you had to take to deal with mendacious critics, the threats you faced from treacherous underlings. Did Bill Gates ever put his life on the line the way you did when you shot your brother? Did Jack Welch have to fill out the ballot papers for tens of millions of illiterate tribesmen? You deserve a decent “retirement fund” in return for your sacrifices. And here is our four-point guide to keeping it safe.

MOTHER’S DAY PRESENCE AS PRESENTS

SINGING FRANCINE  –  GO BRAVE

MOTHER’S DAY PRESENCE AS PRESENTS

By  EWALT AINSWORTH

Mother’s Day in this writer’s head should be celebrated nine months after the baby born.  In other words everyday should be mother’s day and those of us who grew up with aunts and uncles,  deferred and absentee parents; ridiculous and sometimish co-ho-hosts; step and pretentious care givers should be celebrating with more vigor hourly and twice on Sundays.

Things are not the way they used to be;  some parents after birth and after the after-birth are forced to  migrate.  The assigned care givers can be ambidextrous…they have both hands in yuh pocket and the children suffer.  It is very difficult to shake off abuses even after several doses of salts, licks, kicks and bricks.  Mothers too morph into being mothers to their own mothers and allow their children…their tails to wag the dogs.  Mothering is about being present when all others use presents instead of presence.   Continue reading

China has taken over Guyana. Have you seen this?

CHALKDUST  –  HOW TO SING CALYPSO

China has taken over Guyana. Have you seen this?

Didn’t you hear?  The Chinese are coming!!!.  No, the Chinese are here.

More and more and more and more of them.

This is most interesting.  While some Guyanese (our people) see no viable future and seek every opportunity to exit, others see a massive cash cow and welcome the exodus.

GDF:  NAUGHTY  BY NATURE

By  EWALT AINSWORTH    05 10 1013

Another decorated officer … Major Joslyn Assanah has fallen on his own sword.  This week he was dragged before the courts without the support and embrace of the  GDF for allegedly raping his own  sister in law on vacation in Guyana last Easter.

The Army from the commander in chief right down had to the last ensign … potential officer recently had to submit to a drug test.  A psychological test was also recommended but side stepped because all are guilty.  The army is also too top heavy and ethnically challenged.   Jagdeo is also getting a good price for the real estate to put down more hotels and casinos off the seashore.  His naughty self is at play;  anything for a dollar…. the hole is the whole problem. ABORT INDIAN IMMIGRATION WITH 8TH OF MAY CELEBRATIONS

MIGHTY  ELCID  – SONG OF GUYANA

ABORT INDIAN IMMIGRATION WITH 8TH OF MAY CELEBRATIONS
By  Ewalt Ainsworth        05  08 2013

The 8TH OF MAY:  One of the more significant  lives and days in the annals of
recent Guyanese history again passed un-noticed.  Next year will be
different;  Dartmouth will have a whole day to reflect and genuflect and
protect the man that was born in the land of the  Mighty Roraima.

And on that day President Donald Ramotar will have to abort his hustle
and give credence to the man who made all things possible.    Region
two…birth place and movement for all of Guyana’s progress …real and
perceived is now better and brighter.    The private sector employs more
people than the government but unfortunately those farmers re being short
changed by the PPP.           Continue reading

They’ve been charged with taking bribes, lying under oath, even trying to buy their way into office — but until now, there has never been a political corruption case in New York like this.

State Sen. John Sampson was charged Monday with embezzling $440,000 and using some of it to bankroll a bid for one of the highest law enforcement jobs in the city, Brooklyn district attorney. And when he feared getting caught, he told an associate he could track down informants and “take them out,” according to an indictment unsealed Monday May 6, 2013.  Continue reading
