GLORIA ON ICE                    03 08 2013

Ms Gloria London founding member of the GUYANA OTTAWA COUNCIL, original organizer for   CARIBANNA, and a die-hard Guyanese who lived  55 winters…almost, died in her mac-mansion in Kanata, Ottawa, Canada.

Gloria migrated in 1958 as part of a domestic brigade, but pulled herself up and made it in the upper ranks of the area’s provincial government.  All those years, all those below zero winters, all the mobilizing, galvanizing, organizing and patronizing in the Guyanese community, Gloria never re-visited Guyana.

Last September 2012 she made it to a wedding in Jamaica where she has a sibling.  She also has one in London and now that the weather in Ottawa averaged -35 on the day of her death, Gloria’s body has been put on ice to accommodate a funeral on  a later date.

Also dead this week in Florida is Ms Mymoon Assanah.    Mymoon is originally from Enmore but cultivated a family in the People’s Republic of Victoria.
A date has not been set for her interment because of the clash with the Lenten season.

Here is an official obit from the funeral home supplied by Gloria’s family.
