Three Guyanese dead in Suriname accident

November 2, 2012 – Demerara Waves – PARAMARIBO – A police woman and an insurance company employee are among three Guyanese nationals who died Friday afternoon in Suriname when the vehicle they were travelling in skidded of the road and plunged into a canal.  The vehicle landed on its top in the water.

Police Commander in Nickerie, Stanley Benschop, confirmed that the deceased are Guyanese nationals.                    

Surinamese police have not released the names of the deceased but Demerara Waves Online News (www.demwaves.com) was told that they are 40-year old Charlene Lynch, who was a Sales Representative at Guyana and Trinidad Mutual Insurance (GTM), and Police woman Andrea Isaacs of the Finance Department of the Guyana Police Force.

The injured woman has been identifed as 72-year old Vilma Lynch, a retired head teacher. She did not sustain any wounds but she is in a state of shock and does not remember anything including the names of the other occupants of the car, according to well-placed sources.   [more]

    Andrea Issacs — the Police woman is my aunt. I want to thank this site, I was able to get more information because at first it was just a rumor and this site confirmed it. Our family is greatful for the information and we accept everyone’s great comments and sympathy at our time of mourning.
    Just to update you we the body of Andrea Issacs has been released today. Monday Nov. 5th.
